Africa is currently leading cryptocurrency and blockchain adoption globally because most of its population (over 1.3 billion) are either not connected to centralized banking systems (60% in sub-Saharan according to World Bank 2021 estimates) or are entirely dissatisfied with the continent’s banking inadequacies.
