Indonesia To Launch Cryptocurrency Exchange, Transfer Regulator Power This Agency

The Indonesian government has announced plans to establish a cryptocurrency exchange in the country, with the goal of transferring regulatory powers over such assets from the Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency (Bappebti) to the Financial Services Authority (FSA) within the next two years. This move comes as part of a larger financial sector reform effort in Indonesia, which aims to strengthen and modernize the country’s financial system, Bloomberg reported.
